Advanced Topics in Solar

Makers,

On Monday, join us for Advanced Topics in Solar. This continued discussion of understanding the benefits of going solar will cover:

– How to size a solar array?

– Should I start small and expand?

– How to estimate the costs and incentives?

– Financing and tech options.

Come, join the discussion with members of The Revision Energy team and have your questions answered.

Other Upcoming Events

Tomorrow, learn the ins and outs of renting at Tenancy 101. Come away with helpful information for any step in the renting process. Presented by United Valley Interfaith Project.

Tuesday features a brand new class: Intro to Sashiko-Inspired Visible Mending! In this introductory class to visible mending students will create simple but unique exterior patch repairs and/or embellishments to their denim or medium-weight twill garments, inspired by the ancient Japanese tradition of Sashiko stitching. We will consider environmental effects of our throw-away clothing culture, as well as the concepts of “slow fashion,” “mindful mending,” individuality, and responsible sourcing. Each student will leave with 2 patches (provided), written materials for home reference, and inspiration to turn their current wardrobe into something special instead of something trashed.   Ages 13 & up (accompanied by an adult) are allowed. This class is open to all skill levels.

On Wednesday we will be holding our Electronics / Microcontroller Meetup. Come share your new projects and chat about projects other’s are working on! All varieties of electronics projects and flavors of microcontrollers – Arduino to BeagleBoard and everything in between (sensors, IoT, Python, Scratch, etc.) – are welcome!

News From the Woodshop:

Our woodshop is our busiest department at CMS, between our large selection of tools and variety of projects being completed in the space, a lot is happening. We are currently looking for an experienced woodworker to become an additional volunteer Woodshop lead to help train, support and certify members on tools. Shop leads share their knowledge with members and also get a free membership to CMS! Please email us at [email protected] if you are interested in learning more!
