IT’S OUR BIRTHDAY! And you’re invited to the party!
Twelve months ago today we celebrated the Grand Opening of the Claremont MakerSpace. What an awesome first year it’s been!
We’ve offered over 200 classes and events which saw over 750 participants. We’ve collaborated with dozens of regional businesses and community organizations, and launched an Artist In Residence Program and Veterans Scholarship Program. Every day, our community members are using the MakerSpace to put shape to their ideas, develop new business ventures, explore new technologies and learn new things.
What’s next?
We have a number of programs in the works which we can’t wait to launch! These range from advanced-level classes that build upon our first year offerings, to special programming for students and kids. We’re also working to expand our capacity with new tools in all departments: additional machining equipment in the Metalshop, a dyeing area in Fiber Arts, and more.
