Intermediate Jewelry Class: Basics of Torch Fired Enameling

August 18th, 10 AM – 2 PM

This Sunday come learn the basics of torch fired enamels!  In this class you’ll learn to fuse opaque powdered glass enamel onto small pieces of copper using a torch.  You’ll create colorful, glassine shapes that can be made into jewelry! This class will teach you the basics of torch fired enameling, including a few fun extra design techniques.  All materials are provided and included in the workshop price.

*This workshop will require you to frequently hold and use a torch, so basic experience doing so is required.  Your instructor will always be nearby, but may not be able to watch over every firing.

*Participants must have some experience using a soldering torch and feel comfortable holding the torch on their own. For example, if you’ve taken the Silver Ring or Set A Stone class and felt comfortable holding the torch with the instructor nearby, you would qualify. If you’re unsure if you qualify, please email shop lead Katie at [email protected].

Denim Inseam Repair

August 21st, 6:30 – 8:30 PM

Repairs to upper inseam and thigh areas of denim jeans don’t have to be difficult or obvious. In this class we will explore both interior and exterior hand-stitched mends for inseam and crotch holes, thin spots, and frays. No experience is required but participants must be able to thread a needle, and handle scissors and needles safely. All mending materials provided; please bring a pair of denim jeans or shorts you wish to repair.
