Next Week’s Classes at CMS!

Close Up Focus On Flowers

Tuesday, October 8th, 5:30 – 8:30 PM

We will take a close look at the beauty of flowers. Flowers have all the promise of new life, all the color, fragrance and forms of attraction. The stamen, the pistil, the petals all attract the butterflies and the bees and provide the dawn of a new generation. Bring your own flowers or paint from those provided. We will sketch out our ideas and then use acrylics to paint on canvas. All art supplies are provided. Bring a smock or come dressed to paint.

3D Print Club

Every Tuesday, 6 PM

Join us for 3D PRINT CLUB! Every week, we’ll get together and participate in an open design session. This event is all about self-directed learning and hanging out with other people working on 3D designs or prints. Bring your own laptop or make use of the (first come-first-serve) Makerspace laptops loaded with Fusion 360.

3D Print Club is presented free, but registration is required.

Make A Silver Ring

Wednesday, October 9th, 5:30 – 8:30 PM

In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of silver-smithing while you make a simple silver ring! The instructor will guide you through various options for how to embellish your band, the shape of which you will get to choose.  You’ll try soldering and learn how to polish your finished product into a beautiful ring! No experience necessary. All materials will be provided, and $5 materials fee is included in the registration cost.

Papercrafting: Artist Trading Coins!

Friday, October 11th, 6:30 – 8:30 PM

These delightful mini-collages are super fun to create! Trade them with friends or on-line groups, or turn them into backpack/luggage tags, ornaments, mobiles…limited only by your imagination! All materials provided.  Artist Trading Coins are miniature pieces of art that are created on a 2.5-inch circle of heavy cardstock. They are created by and for artists to trade and collect. All participants must be able to use scissors and glue safely.  This event is open to both kids & adults!
