Painting the Portrait in Watercolor – This Saturday

Makers,

This Saturday, join us for a special event with artist Rober O’Brien, Painting the Portrait in Watercolor.

The human portrait will be explored in this workshop. Students will learn to paint a portrait with all of its nuances and subtleties in watercolor using a layering process. Other mediums are welcome. Students will paint from photo references. The instructor will paint, as a demonstration, a finished portrait, and will explain each step of the painting process as a morning demo. Students will paint in the afternoon and are encouraged to bring reference photos of a favorite portrait subject. I will also provide reference photos. A critique and class discussion will be held at the end of the session. The class is open to all abilities though some drawing experience is recommended. No materials are included in the cost of the class. For a list of materials, please email [email protected]

Painting the Portrait in Watercolor will occur Saturday, February 1st, 10 am – 4 pm.
