3D Printing – Virtual Learning Class

This week join us for an online / virtual learning class on 3D Printing – 3D Printing Today.  Join us for an evening of learning about the latest advancements and enhancements to 3D Printing Technology. 

John Nolin, ASME/NNE Chairman and Senior Technical Representative at SolidXperts along with his colleague, Katy Shemligian, will share how these advancements are changing the Manufacturing Industry here in New England and around the world.  Connect with us virtually for a live event and examine assorted part samples that will challenge and inspire how you think about designing your projects. 3D Printing Today will occur Tuesday, June 30th from 6:45 – 8 PM, register here.

 

The Science of COVID-19

Join The Claremont Makerspace & The New Hampshire Academy of Science for this virtual learning series on the Science of COVID-19. Find out how scientists are studying and developing vaccines to combat this disease and how technology is being used used in the process. The series will run on Tuesday’s in July (7th, 14th, 21st & 28th) from 7 – 8 PM. There will be a Q&A at the end of each session. Feel free to attend one or all, by signing up for each individual session.

July 7th – Intro to SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 and PCR testing

July 14th – Immunology/Antibodies, Antibody testing, Antibody therapy.

July 21st – Vaccines – How are they typically developed, how are some of the ones in clinical trials now different.

July 28th – Protein Modeling  and the use of DIY programs & crowdsourcing computing power.

This virtual series is presented free of charge. A Zoom conference link will be emailed to participants after signing up for the class.  This event is free, but registration is required and will be presented virtually.

CMS COVID-19 Economic Hardship Scholarship Program

The Claremont MakerSpace is a creative hub and community workspace, designed to help our members put shape to their ideas. We offer membership-based access to specialty tools for woodworking, jewelry making, electronics, metalworking, fiber arts and more, as well as education, room to work, and a community of like-minded creative people.

If you are suffering economic hardship as a result of loss of employment, reduction in wages or other economic hardship as a result of COVID-19, you may apply for the CMS COVID-19 Economic Hardship Scholarship Program. This program offers a 75% discount on Claremont MakerSpace membership to approved applicants for a period of up to six months. You may be able to apply for an extension at the end of the scholarship period, contingent upon available program funding.

The CMS COVID-19 Economic Hardship Scholarship Program is supported by a generous grant from the Oleonda Jameson Trust. The continued availability of this program is contingent on available funding and program renewal. Please direct questions to: [email protected]

Personal Studio Spaces

CMS has personal studio spaces available for rental. While all departments of the CMS offer shared workspace, CMS Personal Studio Spaces provide personal work areas for dedicated users to call their own. Personal studio spaces are made up of 48″ dividers and come in sizes of 60 sq/ft and 100 sq/ft , with each studio including 2 power outlets and an Ethernet jack. Studio Members may fit up their studios however they wish (as long as it’s all code compliant and respectful of others). To learn more about Personal Studio Spaces & availability, click here.
