This month we have virtual classes on design, drawing, machining, business and ink making! We are also offering limited sized in person classes. Learn about these offerings and how to register at the following links.
April 3rd, 2:00 PM
Learn to create beautifully colored and uniquely patterned eggs using common kitchen vegetables and spices! Participants will be provided with an extensive list of recommended materials beforehand, though many of these ingredients are likely to be found on hand in the kitchen pantry. We will prepare the dyes during the class, discuss various methods of decoration, and have plenty of time for experimentation. This class is not suitable for children without adult supervision!
April 6th, 2:00 PM
The CMS laser cutter is one of the most versatile tools for makers of all types. From engraving to constructing, project possibilities are endless.
This class will teach you the basic operation of the CMS Laser Cutter, allowing you to further learn as you expand your laser skills. By the end of the class you should be able to turn on and off the laser, be cognizant of and follow safety procedures and set up and complete a raster and vector cut on the laser cutter, be familiar with the design software used for the laser cutter (Corel Draw) and the basic parts of the laser cutter. Participants will be able to set up a time for follow up certification if and when they are ready.

Remember show & tell from elementary school? Whether it was your favorite day or not…. Let’s experience it again in a warm and welcoming community. What’s the favorite photo or object you inherited? Why do you keep it? How did it come into your life? What story does it tell? Let’s gather together to share the stories of the things we keep. Each week you’ll be asked to bring a photo or object that holds a piece of the story of your loved one lost or an ancestor found. Join us for one or all of these story-sharing gatherings focused on the theme Passed & Present. How do you keep their memories alive?

The Claremont MakerSpace’s quilting machine is a great tool for creative, efficient quilting! In this hands-on training session, participants will learn how to set up a project on the quilting machine and utilize its standard features. Participants of this class will have the opportunity to sign up for a follow-up certification session, so that they may use the machine on their own.

April 13th / 15th, 6 – 7 PM
In this free virtual class, attendees will learn how to edit, retouch, adjust color and combine photographs using Photoshop. Do you have old photographs that you would like to scan and repair or enhance? This is the class for you. You will also learn to colorize black and white or sepia photographs. Needed supplies: Internet connected device, suggested Photoshop CS 2016-2020.
Digestion: A Nutritional Therapy Perspective
April 13th, 7 PM
Every wonder why you feel bloated or sleepy after a meal? Feel better if you skip breakfast? Feel excessively full after eating even a small amount? Tune in virtually with Emily McNamara, a certified Functional Nutritional Therapist and cook at Edgewater Farm, who will be leading this class series on Digestive Health. In three, hour long classes, she will explain the Nutritional Therapy approach to wellness, while giving you a virtual taste of some recipes, foods, tips and tricks to best support your digestion and improve how you feel.
April 20 – 22nd, 10am – 11:30am
In this 3-part series kids will learn dice games for reinforcing computation. Have fun while practicing computational fluency! This series is designed for kids ages 8-10. Instructor will provide a materials list prior to each class, and a handout of the games at the end of the series.
April 20 – 22nd, 2:00-3:30pm
In this 3-part series kids will experiment with designing towers, bridges, and launchers using simple materials, most of which can be found in your home. Each session will begin with a warm-up activity, and will revolve around a different principal – balance, strength, and motion – through hands-on design activities. While there’s a progression of challenge across the 3 workshops each session stands alone.
April 22, 29, May 6, May 13th at 6 PM
Let’s face it, most of our homes are full of personal belongings including photos, documents, and memorabilia. But have you ever stopped to think whether you or your family members know the stories behind these things? Do you know why your child has that clay model on his/her/their window sill? Or that poster on the back of her/their/his bedroom door? Do you know why your parent keeps that ragged old apron hanging in the pantry? Those eye glasses on a kitchen self? What about the objects of seemingly more importance on the mantel or in a display case? Join us for this intergenerational story-sharing gathering to learn more about one another via the things you/your family keeps.

Join us for a free webinar on QuickBooks Online! We will walk you through the basic layout of QuickBooks and point out helpful features and tips.
April 23rd, 6 PM
This introductory MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding workshop will cover MIG welding safety, machine setup, technique and troubleshooting – with lots of hands on practice. Participants will get comfortable using a MIG welder while doing a basic starter project.
April 26th, 6 PM
April showers bring May flowers! In this class we will draw a floral bouquet using simple repeated shapes that are representative of flowers. This class is suitable for beginners with no drawing experience, or for anyone who wants to try something new. Children with an adult to help are welcome. These bouquets are easy and fun to draw and make great greeting cards. We will discuss methods to add color if desired. The materials list is a recommendation for the best experience; if you do not have these, plain paper and a ball point will still work to learn the drawing techniques.
